Head Coach Glen House-Distance & Javelin

Coach House has been coaching track and field and cross country since 1992 and been a competitive runner in track & field, cross country, and road racing since 1976. His experience includes coaching on both the high school and collegiate levels and House coached for six years at his alma mater Parkway Central High School before taking over as head coach at Maryville University where he coached for six years. House began coaching at Northwest in 2005. While at Maryville University, House led his women's cross country team to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in 2003 and was named conference coach of the year. House has coached numerous state qualifiers and medalists, a district championship track & field team, 400 meter and javelin state champions, and both individual and team collegiate academic all-Americans. In addition, House is a USA Track & Field certified coach and is a member of both USA Track & Field and the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.

House teaches social studies at Northwest High School and graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with degrees in business administration, political science, history, and education. He also has a masters degree from the the University of Missouri in Positive Coaching.

Assistant Coach Brad Crocker-Throws & Horizontal Jumps

Brad Crocker
Coach Crocker has been coaching girls track for the past 20+ years. He has coached a number of different events in track and field including throwers, sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers. Besides coaching track for Northwest, Coach Crocker teaches P.E. at Northwest Valley Middle School.
 

Assistant Coach CJ Guilford-Pole Vault, High Jump, Hurdles

Coach Guilford has coached track and field for over 10 years, and coaches both cross country and track at Northwest. He has had the opportunity to coach many state qualifiers, several state medalists, and 2 district championship teams at the class 1 and 2 levels at Harrisburg High School near Columbia.

He graduated from Central Methodist University with a BA in Education and a Masters in Education. Coach Guilford was a track and field athelete himself at Central Methodist. Coach Guilford teaches metals at Northwest High School.

 

 

Assistant Coach Dave Pearce-Sprints

Coach Pearce was previously the Head Girls Track Coach for seven years here at Northwest before the birth of his second daughter.  Coach Pearce has coaching experience in football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and golf in addition to track and field.  His oldest daughter is a collegiate track and field athlete at Fontbonne University specializing in throws, while his younger daughter is a cross country and track and field athlete specializing in distance.

Coach Pearce works as a special education teacher at Northwest High School.

 

 

 

 

Volunteer Coach Jim Cary

Coach Jim Cary was elected to the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association hall of fame in 2004. He has coached four athletes who went on to be Olympians and had athletes who placed in the top six in the world in their event four times.  His career spans coaching jobs at Eureka Junior High, Eureka High School, Lafayette High School, Marquette High School, and Lindbergh High School. Coach Cary also coached at Missouri Baptist University where he was part of two national team championships, as well as a 3rd and a 5th place at Nationals.  As the coach who created the program at Marquette High School, his teams won six state trophies in the largest division. Coach Cary has had athletes win more than 300 State Medals, many individual state championships and set three all-class state records in three different events. As Coach has often told his athletes, “I went to a track meet once and tried to pay attention. I think I have an idea as to, how to make you better. Please Trust Me.”
